Bye Bye!!!
By now, I’m sure you are aware that Straylight Run has gone on indefinite hiatus. Although I’ll always make music, this move should mark my retirement from the touring world. While it saddens me knowing that such a great part of my life has come to an end, I couldn’t be more grateful. I’m grateful for the great music we put out to the world. I’m grateful for all of the experiences I’ve had, and sharing those experiences with people I truly love, respect, and admire.
I have been so humbled by the generosity of family, friends, and fans who have made it possible to sustain this career over the last eight years. I have also been humbled by the talented people I have written records and shared stages with.

You guys gave a dork with a crappy haircut (maybe that‘s why it fell out!), a giant Stone Cold Steve Austin t-shirt (I‘ve since traded up for Affliction), and Sketchers that were 3 sizes too big (long story); a shot. We built Taking Back Sunday from nothing. Most of my favorite tour memories are from that first summer tour with Northstar. After John and I left, you guys took the band to amazing heights and I couldn’t be more proud. I wish you all the best in the world. You guys have worked so hard, and no one has been more deserving of the success you have attained.

Starting over again was unbelievably intimidating!!! Our friendship and chemistry helped ease the insanity. We wrote some beautiful music together and saw a large chunk of the world. We took amazing chances and some really paid off. Would/could any other band release singles as polar opposite as Existentialism on Prom Night, and Hands in the Sky (Big Shot)?!!! CRAZY!!! You three, more than anybody, have seen me at my worst. You forgave my antics and got me back on my feet. I’ll never forget that. We were/are family. Even though we may be done professionally, personally you’ll be in my life forever.
Michelle DaRosa, Nicole Childrey, and Tyler Odom
I am very disappointed my time with Destry had to be so limited. I really believe the talent and potential here is unlimited. All three of you are amazing songwriters, singers and players. Writing and recording the It Goes On record is a beautiful memory in an otherwise turbulent period of my life. I know the next Destry record is going to blow my mind and I wish I could’ve been a part of it. I’ll be watching from the sidelines, clapping the longest and cheering loudest!!!
No regrets!
