Boston was easily one of the best shows on this tour so far. Had a terrific time and Michelle joined us on a few songs. It was nice to have her back in the fold at least for a night.
After the show I told Michelle she was like my pinky toe. If I didn’t have it, I’d stumble around for awhile, but eventually I’d get used to life without it. Then if I ever got it back I’d feel like I could sprint like Carl Lewis.
head to our web store to download our new digital EP “About Time”!

A - knitting factory is still at 74 leonard st
B - saturday’s show is an EARLY show. doors @ 5:30, we play @ 8pm!
For the first time ever, we arrived at the first show of our tour EARLY!!! I can’t believe it. Tom Martin and I have already discussed Andre the Giant and The Wrestler movie. Tom hated the movie, I really dug it.
Will and John are busy counting in merch, and I’m dicking around on the internet of course. If you haven’t seen it yet, we’ve posted another new song on myspace. It’s called Mile After Mile. Werd.
PA should be fun tonight. I’m getting stoked!
We had our first Straylight practice yesterday. Tour starts Wednesday in West Chester PA. Our friend Tom Martin is running the show over there at The Note. He and I love shooting the breeze about the latest gossip in pro wrestling and punk rock. Tom loves rum and coke, and his glass eye.
The songs are coming together fairly easily. Many of the songs were pieced together quickly over the course of our 3 days of preproduction. We haven’t played any of them (save Don’t Count Me Out which we debuted in Australia) since tracking them.
It always surprises me how in synch the three of us are when we start playing. I guess after 5 years of writing music and touring the world together we know each other pretty well. Werd!
I’m off to get some food before we start a rockin’. Yeah I said “a rockin’”!!!
Yeah, so I’m really excited about this one too. Hell, I’m excited about all 4 tracks on the EP.
Don’t Count Me Out - head to www.myspace.com/straylightrun to hear another new song!

I know I may be captain obvious over here but The Office has to be the best show on television. At my crotchety jaded age, many things considered funny by the general public I consider loathsome (dane cook I’m looking at you!). Although The Office is now mainstream, I feel like the writing is better than ever. It’s so quick, clever and absurd. It never dumbs down or gets annoying. I’d only like it better if Rainn Wilson didn’t fix his receding hairline (something I know a thing or two about :P).
Just got off the phone with Michelle. She finished vocals on the Destry record. We just have to get it mixed and mastered. I can’t wait. I’m very excited just to hear these songs properly mixed and mastered. I think the record is so strong, I’m dying to share it. I think the release date is tentatively scheduled for sooner than later 2009. I’m really looking forward to the show we have in late June with Anthony from Bayside @ Maxwell’s, followed by the short tour with The Narrative.
I’m also really looking forward to the upcoming Straylight tour with Lovedrug and Good Old War. We’re really getting back to our roots. It will just be the three of us in the van powering through this thing. We’ll be selling our own merch so please bring exact change when I’m alone behind the table. Some people are illiterate and can’t read. I don’t know how to count (shh don’t tell!). Is there a term for this affliction?
Speaking of Affliction, those shirts are rad. They go great with my goatee, my bell bottom leather pants, my snakeskin cowboy boots, and codpiece.
I just finished another listening of Straylight’s new EP which will be titled About Time. It’s effing solid! Sorry to toot my own proverbial horn, but I really like it. If you’ve heard I’m Through With the Past on our myspace, you understand the direction we’re going in. I think we may be at the very beginning of our peak. Funny how it only took us two full lengths and three EPs to realize that… Better than peaking too soon I suppose.
Happy Cinco De Mayo!!! Don’t eat the worm!
